Our Story

Broomfield Pride was born on a sunny summer day in June of 2021. Eleven local organizations came together with face painters, food trucks, and a live DJ to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community. The first Party in the Park was hosted by PFLAG Broomfield and included the Broomfield Library, Health and Human Services, and Council on the Arts & Humanities alongside a handful of community nonprofits. This year we will come together again, louder and prouder than ever for our 4th annual Party in the Park with our official sponsor, Rainbow Broomfield! Founded in 2023, Rainbow Broomfield is the nonprofit organization dedicated to funding and promoting Broomfield Pride, ensuring the longevity of our beloved event. The sky is the limit in 2024 and we’re looking forward to another beautiful day in the park with our community supporters.

Why Pride?

Pride Month is a decades-long tradition of uplifting the LGBTQIA+ community throughout the month of June. Though sparked by the Stonewall Riots in 1969,  our pride events are rainbow-colored and joy-filled opportunities to celebrate our culture, our experiences, our history, and our activism. Pride is for everyone and is a wonderful chance for local community groups, organizations, activists, service providers, and businesses to come together and stand tall in their continued support for the LGBTQIA+ Community.
